Every Monday in May we will have a special menu available with wine pairings at each course. Prego will be offering some older wines that we have been cellaring for a special occasion such as this. We invite you to swing by, no reservation needed, on a Monday and ask for our wine pairing menu. Anyone can choose to dine from that special menu on Mondays, until the end of May. Here’s a preview of some of the wines we will be featuring. Let us know in the comments what wines you’d like to see us pour!!! Salud 🥂

Friends and neighbors,
We have some news to share. We have made the tough decision to pause our relocation plans for our original location of Prego from 2520 Amherst to 5515 Kelvin. Prego will remain open in its original location through Mother’s Day and look to close on May 31, 2024. Despite our best efforts and Rice Real Estate Company’s generous accommodations, we have decided that it is not the right time for Prego to make such a move. We appreciate the long-standing relationship with Rice and their partnership in helping us come to this decision. We are excited about the future of Rice Village and continue to be steadfast in our commitment to this community. As we say goodbye to this amazing place we’ve called Prego for the past 40 years, we will be hosting several wine dinners leading up to our final service date. Come raid the cellar, have a martini at the bar, enjoy a family dinner on the patio, and host a celebration in the wine room. We look forward to celebrating with you all!

👋 📣 After calling 2520 Amherst our home for the last 40 years, Prego has an announcement. We are moving…but not far! We will be relocating during the Summer of 2024 to a new space at 5515 Kelvin, only 100 yards from our current location. While we prepare for our relocation, we want our customers to know how much we love being a part of the Rice Village community. We are thrilled that we were able to find a new space that allows us to stay and be the dependable restaurant you love. The past few years have been unprecedentedly challenging, but with your support we have endured and even thrived. Our longtime regular customers inspire us to continue to provide a place where families and friends can gather to relax, share a meal, and be there for one another. Our commitment to quality, comfort, reliability, and hospitality has never been stronger. We encourage you to dine with us again in our original location before we move. We are open through the holidays and new year and would love to serve you and celebrate with you. We’ve created decades worth of memories together and will be highlighting various stories from our history over the coming months. To reach the Italian restaurant on Amherst Street in Houston via public transportation, take bus number 27 and get off at the intersection of Amherst Street and Shepherd Drive. Alternatively, take the Red Line train and exit at the Wheeler Station, then transfer to bus number 25 and get off at the same intersection.
