I will not be cooking next week. We will be on our annual fall foliage pilgrimage. I’ll be back in the kitchen on the 19th offering you delicious nightly dinners and a soup of the week.

MONDAY 10/5: Chuck steak slow braised in a deep, rich sauce made with onions, celery, carrots, tomatoes and spices served over buttermilk mashed potatoes.

TUESDAY 10/6: My mom's recipe for Chicken Parmesan served over angel hair pasta with scratch made marinara, crispy Parmesan crusted chicken and topped with Mozzarella cheese.

WEDNESDAY 10/7: Pickle brined chicken breast pieces deep fried golden brown served with copycat Chick-fil-a sauce and creamy macaroni and cheese.

THURSDAY 10/8: Apple c***r braised pork shoulder made with seasonal apples, cinnamon and herbs served over buttermilk mashed potatoes with roasted carrots.

FRIDAY 10/9: Giant pasta shells stuffed with shredded chicken, ham, bacon and Swiss cheese topped with cheesy cream sauce. Served with chocolate bundt cake with chocolate ganache glaze.

Dinners are served hot and ready to eat 5-6:00 pm at The Cove on Hamblen (1101 Hamblen Road in Forest Cove). Come early to enjoy a cold craft b**r or glass of w**e. Dinners can be ordered in advance for the week or even on the morning you would like dinner if placed by 10:00 am.

Wednesday night’s dinner is my version of Cajun Chicken Fricassee. Kind of a cross between the French version and the Cajun version…. Browned chicken thighs in a roux based sauce (Cajun version) but I will be adding some carrots and finishing with white w**e and cream (French version). All served over white rice.

MONDAY 9/28: Chicken caccciatore over spaghetti: Bone-in chicken breasts braised in rich tomato sauce with red w**e, sweet bell peppers, mushrooms and olives.

TUESDAY 9/29: I am so ready for it to feel like fall and this recipe definitely screams "FALL" to me! Grilled pork tenderloin with maple-bourbon glaze served with mashed sweet potatoes and roasted Brussel sprouts

WEDNESDAY 9/30: Cajun chicken Fricassee: browned chicken thighs smothered in a roux-thickened creamy gravy slow cooked until falling off the bone. Served over white rice.

THURSDAY 10/1: I will be catering a private event today so I will not be serving dinner.

FRIDAY 10/2: Chicken & andouille gumbo with white rice on side and Greek salad.

To get to the location on Hamblen Road in Houston, there are several options for transportation. If using public transport, take the bus or train to the nearest station and then transfer to a local bus that stops near Hamblen Road. The nearest bus stop is on the corner of Hamblen and Richmond Avenue.

If driving, take I-10 East until you reach the exit for Dairy Ashford Road. Turn left onto Dairy Ashford Road and then right onto Westheimer Road. Continue on Westheimer until you reach Hamblen Road on your right. You can park in the parking lot on the corner of Hamblen and Westheimer.

Another option is to take Highway 59 South until you reach the exit for Hillcroft Avenue. Turn right onto Hillcroft Avenue and continue until you reach Westheimer Road. Turn left onto Westheimer Road and continue until you reach Hamblen Road on your left. Parking is available in the lot on the corner of Hamblen and Westheimer.
