35 years of Saltgrass is really a celebration of people like Steve Hooper. 🤠
Steve first fell in love with Saltgrass in 2002. A few years later, he decided to turn that love into a personal quest: eat at every Saltgrass Steak House location.
He completed the quest. Then we opened more restaurants... so naturally, Steve kept going. And going. And going. Over the years, his Saltgrass travels have taken him across the country, to opening days, road trips with family and more Pat’s Ribeyes than he can count. In his words, probably “at least a full bovine.”
Most recently, Steve made it to our Cripple Creek location and once again officially completed his quest of dining at every open Saltgrass. Steve calls it SOCS, Saltgrass Obsessive Compulsive Syndrome. He says there is no known cure that he knows of, just treatment: Eating at Saltgrass. ❤️
For 35 years, people have walked through our doors for steaks and left with traditions, stories and memories that stretch far beyond the table. Steve, thank you for taking Saltgrass along for the ride and for being part of our story for more than two decades.
We’ll keep opening them if you keep visiting them. Deal?

**Driving Directions:**
1. Start on the nearest major road and head towards I-45 South.
2. Merge onto I-45 S and continue for approximately 5 miles.
3. Take exit 44B for I-610 E toward Beaumont.
4. Continue on I-610 E for about 3 miles.
5. Take exit 38B toward Gulf Freeway/US-75 S.
6. Merge onto Gulf Freeway and follow signs for Gulfgate Mall.
7. Use the mall entrance, and look for parking in the designated areas.
**Public Transport Directions:**
1. Check local bus schedules to find a route that services your starting location to Gulfgate Mall.
2. The METRO Bus Route 40 (Broadway) has stops near the mall; you can board this bus if it’s convenient from your location.
3. Ride until you reach the Gulfgate Mall stop, which is located close to the entrance of the shopping center.
4. From there, it’s a short walk to your destination within the mall.
