I felt like I was dropping Pops off to the first day of school. Such sweet anxiety. We were invited to have a Friday lunch with the owner of Katie’s, Pops (Bill from Causeway Marina), Captain Bubba (Bills son) and another gentleman. I have some work to do next door Peanut Butter Warehouse Boutiques so i’m letting Pops enjoy this quality time that he needs so desperately. If you happen to see this man today, don’t be afraid to give him a hug and take a selfie. It brings a joy that I cannot even explain.

To get to Wharf Road in Galveston, there are a few different options depending on how you're planning to travel:
Public Transport:
If you're using public transport, the nearest bus stop is located at 19th Street and Harborside Drive. From there, it's about a 15-20 minute walk down Harborside Drive to get to Wharf Road.
Driving/Parking:
If you're driving, you can take Interstate 45 towards Galveston and exit at Exit 1A for Harborside Drive. From there, turn left onto Harborside Drive and continue for about 4 miles until you reach Wharf Road. There is limited street parking available on Wharf Road and nearby streets.
Alternatively, you can park in the nearby public parking lots (such as the one located at 2100 Harborside Drive) and then walk about 5-10 minutes to get to Wharf Road.

One of the standout dishes at Katie's Seafood House is the Fisherman's Fricassee, which features lightly pan-fried Amber Jack baked in a golden onion and mushroom wine sauce with mashed potatoes and asparagus. This dish is only available for a limited time, so be sure to try it while you can.
Another must-try dish at Katie's Seafood House is their Easter Seafood Platter, which includes Silky Snapper with butternut crab sauce, Grilled Shrimp, Stuffed Crab, and Jumbo lump crab meat. This platter was only available for one day during Easter but speaks to the quality of the seafood served at this restaurant.
If you're looking for something spicy, try the Blackened Red Snapper on Creole Rice topped with Crawfish Étouffée and Grilled Jumbo Shrimp. This dish comes highly recommended by the chef and is sure to leave your taste buds satisfied.
Katie's Seafood House also offers a Happy Hour from 2pm-7pm Monday-Friday where you can enjoy great food, drinks, and staff. And during the holiday season, they extend their Happy Hour from 12pm-7pm for Christmas and holiday parties.
Lastly, if you're lucky enough to visit when the Battleship Texas docks at Pier 21 around 4 pm, you can enjoy some great pictures along with your fresh seafood on their patio.
