Apparently, someone tried to make Joyfully Stranded a drive thru. Joyfully Stranded is the yarn and bead store owned by Sandra Miller , which is across the street from Sonny's. And, YES, Joyfully Stranded is OPEN for business!

Oh Look! Another ....Let's Bash Sonny's Place...on Galveston Eats....
I forget that people who don't know me, don't get my cynicism, sarcasm, and cutting sense of humor. If you found my original post offensive, I offer my apologies, but it is what is.... So in that light, I am adjusting my post and will tone it down a little , ....but to reiterate, ....I will simply say.... Sonny's isn't a salad place....lol. We put it in the description that it is a Lettuce and tomato salad. And, like everyone else in the restaurant industry will tell you, ....if you are unhappy with something....send it back...lol. And last, but not least, ....keep in mind,...just about 6 months ago on Galveston Talk, my competitor's friends attempted to run Sonny's Place out of business .....

One of the nicest guys I ever met. Mr. Fertitta always took the time to ask me how I was doing, or how were my parents....just a great person!

What people say
American restaurants are known for their delicious food, friendly atmosphere, and great service. Sonny's Place on 19th Street in Galveston is no exception. This family-friendly restaurant and bar has been serving all your favorites since 1944, making it a staple in the community.
One of the things that sets Sonny's Place apart is their commitment to honoring their Ukrainian heritage. They have welcomed seven Ukrainians into their family and even had a great article written about them in the Galveston Daily News. This dedication to family and tradition is reflected in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant.
But let's not forget about the food! Sonny's Place serves up classic American fare like burgers, sandwiches, and seafood dishes. And on Fridays, they offer gumbo and muffuletta - a must-try for anyone visiting Galveston.
Overall, Sonny's Place is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a delicious meal in a friendly environment. With its long history in the community and commitment to tradition, it's no wonder why this restaurant has stood the test of time.
