The Central Texas style barbecue uses different woods, different meats, and different pits for different meats, ensuring a unique flavor profile for each dish.
What sets Killen's BBQ apart from other barbecue joints is the use of high-quality ingredients like Allen Brothers beef ribs and Creekstone Farms brisket. The one-of-a-kind indoor pit central to the structure holds around 450 pounds of meat and provides heat and smoke under the cooking surface before venting via the chimney. The outdoor wood-fired Oyler smoker can hold up to 1,800 pounds of meat, making it perfect for pork ribs, pork butt, bone-in pork belly, chicken, turkey breast and sausage.
The restaurant itself is located in a renovated 50's style diner that was once Pearland ISD's first school cafeteria where Chef Ronnie Killen worked as a teenager. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting with friendly staff who are always ready to help you choose from their extensive menu.
