Of course our party tent’s back this year for Southern Smoke Festival 2026 presented by Sysco. We get to join so many other talented industry peers and friends of over 80 chefs and beverage professionals at in Houston, TX on October 3rd.

Each ticket supports , a local nonprofit that supports food and beverage workers in crisis.
This foundation serves as a safety net for our community, offering emergency relief and free mental health services through their Behind You program.

How about a lil Puff, Puff, Pass to start your dinner off 😮‍💨?

Plantains 3 ways: confit, pureed, and curried. They’re sliced and fried hot to order. We make these tostones smashed on the tortilla press made by and dropped them in fryer. The best part is making Nigerian puff puff, HOT AND FRESH. It’s a fry bread snack that’s rounded out with Scotch bonnet aioli that has a lil fiery kick with just enough sweetness to meet it where it lives.

Bread and butter pickled green tomatoes cut through it all, with cilantro and mint to close. Mix, match, eat with your hands. No rules here.

This week got to show up for a very special benefit. is a nonprofit dedicated to giving children with cancer a real camp experience, no wilderness required.

Every summer, they take over an entire floor of and transform it into a full-on sleepaway camp, complete with bunk beds, camping gear, and meals, all overseen by MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital staff and local volunteers.
Families pay nothing. And the goal is bigger than Houston — wants to bring this model to cities across the country.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Chef along with other incredible talented chefs are uniting for a special fundraiser benefiting , a nonprofit that brings children with cancer together for an “urban sleepaway camp” at .

Each summer, an entire hotel floor transforms into a campground with bunk beds, camping gear, and meals, supervised by MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital staff and local volunteers. There’s no cost to families, and the goal is to expand this model to other cities.

Now in its seventh year, the evening features 20+ chefs, 250 guests, a mobile silent auction, and a virtual camp experience with prizes including experiential travel and private celebrity chef cooking classes.

We are asking you to Lettuce Feed You Lunch with some bread that will impress! Join us at our parking lot next Tuesday, April 7th, from 12-4pm for some specialty sandwiches made by Chef who says he’ll keep slangin’ til the last one is standing!

“Beans had emergency BOAS surgery yesterday afternoon, a common syndrome for frenchies. As cute as they are, humans bred them to live a life of suffering. If you know us, you know Beans has been doing quite the opposite this past year since we rescued her. I’m sure many of you have seen Jacob pushing Beans in her stroller around these streets. This surgery should have been taken care of in Beans early life (she is 4). Unfortunately the neglect Beans suffered before she got to us caused her to be in critical condition LITERALLY gasping for air. Friday afternoon we had to rush her to the ER because she lost the ability to breathe.

We learned that it happened suddenly and she was worse off because she panicked (duh), so inflammation restricted her airway further. They kept her overnight in an oxygen tank. Saturday night we picked her up. Sunday night/early Monday we rushed her back to the ER because she was struggling to breathe again. The ER helped us find a specialist in Spring that had an opening for surgery.

We are so relieved that Beans is awake. We can’t wait for her to be able to come home.

Yes she’s OK, but we do have an ER bill and a surgery bill hanging over our heads. OF COURSE IT’S ANYTHING FOR BEANS, but we could use your help (so far the combined total is 14k).”

NEWEST SHAREABLE just hit our HOV share lane for your whole crew to pull up: kick his a #@ seabass: super sustainably farmed and humanely raised whole fried fish from , with a chef’s selection of salsas, consommé for dipping, refried black beans, cabbage and radish slaw, salsa crema, plantain chips, and housemade flour tortillas.

Yes we’re open this Monday night. And yes, you should absolutely cozy up with us like Meatballin’ Is A Habit. These iberico pork and wagyu meatballs are deep fried and basted in beef gravy, then served over a potato purée. They’re slathered with more gravy and topped with gremolata with a side of balsamic-beet-cranberry sauce like a warm Thanksgiving blanket on a cold January night. We better see your butts for dinner after surviving that freeze kerfuffle.
