Yay! It's College Football Saturday in the South, and Randall the Dog says it's a great day to be at Craft Grill!

We open at 10:30am and #1 Texas vs. #14 Tennessee game starts at 11am. We'll have both video & audio on for the game in the Tap Room, so get those jerseys on & head on over to Craft with your friends to cheer your team on.

Our gameday suggestion: start out with a Southern Sampler that has 3 Deviled Eggs filled with Smoked Gouda Pimento Cheese & topped with bacon (pro tip: ask for some pickled jalapenos on the side to kick it up even more), 3 'Bama Balls (mac & cheese balls we make in-house with bacon & jalapeno with Dr. Pepper BBQ sauce and Buttermilk Ranch on the plate), Fried Dill Pickles & Fried Green Tomatoes, and a generous serving of that Buttermilk Ranch dressing. One of our broadliner vendors held an exhibition show today at the Berry Center in Cypress, and Chris got a photo with some of his friends; Jackie, Blake, Shade, all from Sysco, and George Christie from longtime Houston favorite, Christie's Seafood & Steaks. George served together with Chris on the Houston Restaurant Association a few years back. Chris loves going to these food shows to keep up with all the latest news in our industry, but also to touch base with all his old friends. And really, who wouldn't like that?

So, if you've been to Craft Grill in the last couple of weeks, you've no doubt noticed some changes. Joe, Patti, Chris & I decided that ten years in, we wanted to do a little bit of a 'glow up', as they say.

We needed to add some more seating in the front foyer area, so we've removed the Host/To-Go area, and built a new wall that will have additional bench seating in front, and we'll be installing new logo signage on the wall. The host stand will be in a prominent area between the Tap Room and the Dining Room so the Host/To-Go team member will have better visibility over the entire room.

There are some more changes in the works too, and we'll show you those as they happen. Two of our favorite guests, Sean & Ashley, decided to play around with AI and come up with a redesign on their own, which as it turns out, is surprisingly close to what we envisioned, lol. I shared it with Chris & he loved it, too. Thanks, Sean, for sharing that bit of humor with us!

Happy today! Let's talk about it!

There's a reason why our Connie's Queso is almost famous! It's because we make it from scratch every day using only the freshest ingredients; whole milk, Monterey Jack cheese and American cheese. (no flour, no fillers, no fake stuff, and definitely no cans or bags-o-cheese in our kitchen), and we top it with fresh pico de gallo, also made fresh every day at Craft Grill. Last but not least, we add fresh avocado & a side of corn tortilla chips.

Guests at Craft also enjoy Connie's Queso with an order of our Two Jumbo Pretzels & Queso, and a lot of folks like to dunk their fries in the queso; nothing wrong with that! C'mon over to Craft and find out for yourself why it's the best queso around these parts!

Tonight we had the pleasure of helping to host a Homecoming Dinner for a wonderful group of well-dressed students from Klein Cain High School. Some of the moms got to Craft Grill Breakfast Club earlier this evening to dress the tables so everything would look nice. They even had place cards set out with all the students names.

But when the kids arrived, they decided to ignore the place cards and sit where they wanted, lol. This was for a dinner where all the individual orders for dinner & mocktails had been placed, and it could have been a bit chaotic. Luckily for us, Trisha & Jill, two of the moms who put this event together tonight, knew all these kids by name & helped our team quickly serve all the plates to the right persons. Ladies, if you’re looking for a part-time job, you’re hired! ❤️

It turned out to be a great night for all & we’re so happy to have been part of it!

Let's just call it a day & start the weekend early! Since it's a bit overcast outside, it's actually a nice time to be outside on our dog-friendly patio, where every dog always get a fresh clean bowl of water and a house-made dogbone-shaped puppy biscuit!

Happy Hour is already in full swing, and the Houston Astros will be on the tv at 6:15pm, and the Lions and Bills at 7:15pm. We'll have both games on for you, of course.
