Owned by John Moore, who also owns Palazzo’s Westchase and Palazzo’s Café, the restaurant offers Mexican street tacos, fusion tacos and old-school Tex-Mex. The restaurant's design pays tribute to the legendary El Restaurante Moderno, a cantina in Piedras Negras, Mexico, which served generations of luminaries and film stars including John Wayne who regularly dined there while filming The Alamo. With salvaged/repurposed wood walls and traditional Mexican encaustic tiles as well as bottle walls that repurpose wine and spirit vessels - this is one of the best places to enjoy delectable Tex-Mex American dishes in a casual setting with old-world charm.
