When one of our regulars told us he’d started volunteering with Kids Meals we got inspired to contribute too! Kids’ Meals is an amazing non profit who delivers free meals to pre school aged kids in the Greater Houston area, ensuring that thousands of young children receive the meals they need to grow and thrive. Through October, we’re collecting the following items for Kids’ Meals:
💦 Drinks: 8oz water bottles, shelf stable milk boxes, 100% juice boxes
🍿 Snacks: Whole wheat crackers, skinny pop, pretzels, granola bars
🥜 Protein: Peanut butter, peanut butter crackers, jerky, tuna packs, shelf stable chicken salad
🍎 Fruit: Fruit cups, apple sauce, 100% fruit snacks, dried fruit, apple chips
Looking to make a further impact? Kids’ Meals just moved into a new space in Spring Branch about a 15 min drive from Verbena. They’re always looking for volunteers - jump over to their website to pick up a shift or two!

What people say
Verbena Coffee, located in the Memorial community of Houston, is a neighborhood-owned coffee shop that showcases local roasters, pastries, and savory options. The shop has a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. What's even better is that Verbena Coffee frequently offers exciting promotions and giveaways to its customers. For instance, on May 31st, Frost Bank sponsored free drinks for customers between 11-1 pm. Additionally, customers who dropped off their contact details had a chance to win a $25 gift card to Verbena Coffee. On May 28th, the shop gave away samples of Oatly's chocolate oat milk to the first 100 customers who made a purchase. The shop also supports the local community by collecting pet supplies for Houston SPCA until June 18th. Verbena Coffee is always finding ways to give back to its customers and community while providing excellent coffee and service.
