Yesterday's $85 gift card winner is Laura Downman, an entry from Facebook. Check your dm's to see how to redeem! It's only fitting that she was our first randomly selected recipient because her husband just might be our longest running customer. Mr. Downman has been coming to Molina's almost daily for over 80 years, and we're so lucky to know them both!
Now, onto Day 2. Another question, another chance to win! Chime in now with your go-to order (the one you don't even need to look at the menu for) to enter to win our second gift card. Thank you all for sharing such special memories with us yesterday, what a way to celebrate

Before Molina’s Cantina, there was a small spot on South Main and two people with a vision.
Raul Molina Sr. and Mary Molina got their start at the original Monterrey Restaurant before going on to take over what would become Mexico City Restaurant. They didn’t just open a restaurant in 1941… they built their lives around it. Raul worked the floor, Mary welcomed guests and ran the till, and they created something Houston hadn’t seen before.
They lived upstairs, raised their family in the business, and turned first-time guests into lifelong regulars.
Years later, the name would change to Molina’s Cantina, but the heart of it stayed the same! ❤️

Honored is an understatement when we talk about how much it means to us to be in such great company with these fellow restauranteurs and business owners. The hospitality and restaurant industry is as special and beautiful as it is difficult. Shoutout to for taking a moment to honor us and others in Houston who have withstood the test of time, the elements, the economy, and entire pandemic and then some to feed Houston, to give them places to gather, and make it such a special place to call home. Mil gracias!

We’ve got more than margaritas in our arsenal, y’all! From mojitos, martinis, mocktails and more— make your way down our menu and find your next favorite 🍸
