It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Craig Franklin. He moved to our beautiful island with his two incredibly talented and intelligent daugthers matriculated at Texas A&M Galveston.
He is also a very proud A&M graduate. He became part of the Stuttgarden Tavern family as a bartender and was quickly
an island favorite. He was a world traveler, award-winning salesman, Texas Rangers fan, Dallas Cowboys fan, Houston Astros fan, Dallas Stars fan, and a Gaveston Island bar trivia champion (his team name was OG SWC--named after the 1980s era Southwest Conference that he loved so much). He played golf with Phil Mickelson and enjoyed telling what a great guy he was. He was always a gentleman and had a distinctive walk. The streets and people of Galveston will miss him.

We appreciate all the love and appreciation everybody who showed out for our last weekend. Days have not been the same and still learning this new beginning.
Unfortunately during this time we did lose another beloved member of the Stuttgarden family. Pete was an amazing person and we are grateful to be able to host his celebration of life at Stuttgarden Tavern Texas City.

After years of good times, great food, and even better people, we will be closing this Sunday.
We have loved every minute of serving this amazing community, and we can’t thank you all enough for the support over the years.
We would love to see as many of you as possible this weekend; come raise a glass with us one last time!
And please remember to keep supporting local businesses here on The Strand; they are the heart of Galveston.
