We had Thai food for dinner today. As Thai food is spicy, I wanted something sweet to ease my tongue, so we crossed the parking lot to a bakery. Here is what we got: a pain aux raisins, a tiny tiramisu, and a so-called chocolate ganache cake. By tasting them, I want to go back to the baking business so badly.
They are not bad, otherwise the brand wouldn't last. However, those are not to my standards.

Fraud Alert – Amazon “Recall” Scam.
Just a heads up to everyone — there’s a new scam going around claiming to be from Amazon about a “recalled item.”
The message says your purchased item has been recalled and asks you to click a link to process a refund. ⚠️ Do NOT click the link. It’s a phishing attempt designed to steal your personal or account information.
It happened to me today.

Today, March 27, is Fête des Fromages in France. I just want a baguette, some good cheese, and a bottle of red wine. Anyone want to share with me?

The Dordogne River has overflowed, flooding much of southwest France. The vineyards in Saint-Émilion and the surrounding areas were completely under water.
The Seine was no exception. There were no evening activities along the river — no bateaux-mouches or dinner cruises. The water levels were so high that cruise boats couldn’t even pass under the bridges.

Quiet Paris during school winter vacation has a special kind of charm. I noticed that most Parisian women dress very casually — sneakers instead of boots or fancy shoes.
So, American ladies, there’s really no need to stress about dressing a certain way to “fit in.” Just be comfortable, be yourself, and enjoy the beauty of Paris.

La Maison de Victor Hugo
La Maison de Victor Hugo is located on a corner of the Place des Vosges in Paris. When you step inside the house, now a museum, you may feel as if you have been transported to ancient China. Victor Hugo had a deep appreciation for interior decoration, especially the color red, which I also love.
His rich and romantic love life 😁 may have inspired him to create many beautiful works, not only in literature but also in painting.

Franc Suisse CHF - Confoederatio Helvetica Franc.
They are so beautiful that I decided to exchange them and keep them as souvenirs. The 1,000 CHF bill is much prettier with its purple color, but I don’t have enough money to buy it.

We checked out of the Off Paris Seine Hotel after the first night and returned a few days later. This was the room we had when we came back and stayed for our last four nights in Paris. It was smaller than the Orange Suite, of course, but I liked it. The bathroom was easy to use, and the noise from the metro was much reduced.
I strongly recommend this hotel, as it offers a unique experience—almost like being on a cruise in the middle of Paris. You can request the Orange Suite (room 104) or the last room we stayed in, room 120.
The location was very convenient for us, as the hotel is across from Gare d’Austerlitz, where you can access Metro lines 5 and 10. There are also many bus lines connecting you to different parts of the city.
My advice for arriving and checking in is to use a taxi rather than Uber. The quai is managed by a government office, not the hotel, and the red taxi light on the roof allows access through the gate by pressing the entrance button.
Furthermore, the area is very safe, even at night..

The view from our room window at night was unforgettable. Hundreds of dining boats passed by; at the beginning of the evening, I tried to count them but quickly gave up because there were so many.
