To Our Beloved Customers and the City of Houston,
After 15 unforgettable years, it is with full hearts and deep gratitude that we announce we will be officially closing our doors after dinner service on Sunday, April 27th.
What began as a humble food truck roaming the streets of Houston quickly became something so much more—a home, a community, a family. From those early days of serving up hot dogs at Antidote Coffe Shop, Buchanan’s Plants, The Menil Collection, Beer Island and many more amazing spots, to opening the doors of our restaurant for the very first time, we have been honored to share our passion and our food with you. Our second location in Montrose will not be forgotten either. It was short lived but we had so much fun serving another wonderful Houston neighborhood.
Through the highs and the lows, you stood by us. You showed up during storms—both literal and figurative. We weathered hurricanes and floods together. And when the world shut down during COVID, your support kept us afloat. You ordered takeout, bought gift cards, and cheered us on from a distance. We opened a makeshift Bodega and sold items to you all. That got us a little shout out in the New York Times! Through all that, you reminded us that this city is made of heart and grit, and we’ve never been more proud to be a part of the best and most diverse food scene in the country…Houston, TX.
We’ve been there for first dates, celebrated birthdays, seen kids grow up at our tables, and shared quiet meals with friends. These are the moments we will carry with us forever. Y’all have truly been such a huge part of our lives.
Last and certainly not least, a HUGE THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts to our amazing team members, past and present. We could not have done any of this without y’all. You truly were the heartbeat of our business and will be family for life. Thank you so very much for being a part of our story.
Though we’re closing this chapter, the memories and relationships built over these 15 years will stay with us forever. Thank you, Houston—for believing in us, supporting us, and allowing us to live out this dream.
We hope to see as many of you as we can before we close. Come say goodbye, share a story, or just let us serve you one more time.
With endless gratitude and love,
Amalia, Daniel & the Good Dog Family
