As we look ahead to the months we have left at our Kirby home, we’re focusing on celebrating every moment with you ❤️
Join us for Sunday Funday: Cinco de Mayo on May 3rd from 10AM–4PM — a full day of food, drinks, and live music. Enjoy our Mexican Street Food Buffet featuring tacos, elote cups, antojitos, chilaquiles, tamales, plus omelet and waffle stations.
From 12PM–3PM, sip on tequila & mezcal samplings, explore specialty cocktails, and enjoy live mariachi by Mariachi Origen y Tradición.

The time has come to sadly announce the upcoming closure of our location at Kirby and Richmond.
After months of exploring every option to keep the Picos' legacy moving forward, we now face the fact that a group planning to build a high-rise has acquired the property. Consequently, we are forced to make the difficult decision to officially close our location on Sunday, August 30, 2026. Our goal has always been to continue Picos’ legacy in Houston. While this chapter is ending, we are actively searching for a new home and remain hopeful about Picos' future in Houston.
My family and I want to emphasize that this is not a goodbye, but rather a transition as we work to secure the right location for the next chapter of our family legacy. Our goal was to move seamlessly to a new space without interruption; however, that timeline depends on securing and remodeling the right location.
As we navigate this change, your support is more important than ever. Your continued patronage in the coming days, weeks and months will play a critical role in helping us sustain the restaurant through its final days at our current location and into our next chapter.
Picos has always been built on the support of our community. To everyone who has shared a meal, created memories, celebrated a milestone, or supported us over the past 42 years, our family and staff thank you for your patronage for all these years, but now more than ever we need your support.
We invite you to visit us on Kirby before August 30 to enjoy our signature drinks, dishes and hospitality one last time in this beautiful space that we have called home for over 12 years.
If you want to find out more about our current situation and plans moving forward, stop by for a chat, I am normally at the restaurant during business hours.
We will share updates regarding our new location and opening timeline as details are confirmed.

Alternatively, if you prefer to drive, it is recommended that you park your car near a nearby intersection and walk to the location. Public transport options include taking Bus No. 25 or Bus No. 56 which stop close to the restaurant or taking Metro Rail Red Line which stops at a nearby station.
