My family moved to Idaho 6 years ago, and let me tell you… people up there think they have BBQ. Bless their hearts. Once a year we come back to Texas, and eating at Mackenzie BBQ is not optional, it is a mandatory pilgrimage. Forget Disney World, this is the real happiest place on earth.

The brisket still tastes exactly like I remember growing up. Perfect smoke ring, melt-in-your-mouth goodness, and BBQ sauce so good that we literally bought bottles to bring back with us. Yes, TSA absolutely inspected our bag full of brisket and like we were running some kind of smoked meat cartel. We regret nothing.

If you grew up in Texas, this place feels like home. If you didn't, this is what real Texas BBQ is supposed to taste like. 10/10. Worth the flight alone."

"Me and my wife came to Conroe for the night for the Houston and Bengals game, (Who Dey). Looked up the best BBQ place around and McKenzie‘s BBQ popped up with super high reviews and they were not wrong. The place is well maintained and has lots of room with very nice folks that work there. Met a great guy named John with an awesome attitude and personality. Before talking with him, I was enjoying my meal watching him go around and help all the younger employees showing them tips and keeping them in line with good leadership. I had the three meat plate which was to die for, brisket, pulled pork, and burnt ends!!! The brisket was so juicy and tender with mouthwatering taste. And let me tell you the burnt ends were any meat lovers dream full of flavor crunchy with fat!!! After my meal I approached John to talk to him about my experience there which it was my first time and because of the great experience and and amazing hospitality as well as the best bbq I’ve had I’ll definitely be coming back! Thanks John for making this experience so great!"
