Scholars & Scoundrels Farewell
This weekend marks the final chapter for Scholars & Scoundrels Katy.
After seven years, and countless shared moments, we will be closing our doors this Sunday 12/21/25.
When we first opened in 2018, we did so with heart, optimism, and the utmost belief. Like any small business, challenges were met along the way. An opportunity later opened for us to move to the Boardwalk โ one we believed in and pursued with hope for the future.
That transition brought its own complexities. Moving from our original location, navigating nearly ten months of waiting, reopening, and rebuilding during changing economic times โ including post-COVID inflation and rising costs โ stretched people and resources thin across multiple locations. Over the last couple of years, a combination of many factors made continuing financially unsustainable and impacted quality.
Still, none of that diminishes what was shared here. Weโll always be grateful for the conversations held around tables, the familiar faces that became regulars, the friendships formed, and the moments โ both loud and quiet โ that made this place feel like more than just a bar and restaurant.
This Saturday, weโre hosting one final closure bash. A chance to raise a glass, reminisce, and celebrate the memories made here. Come on out and support the staff and help them earn some holiday money this week.
To our staff โ thank you for riding this roller coaster with us. Through change, uncertainty, long nights, and constant adaptation, you showed up with heart, resilience, and loyalty. This place existed because of you.
To our supporters and community โ whether you came often, occasionally, or followed us from location to location โ thank you. Every bit of support mattered more than you know.
Weโre proud of what we built, deeply grateful for the memories, and hopeful as we look ahead to what comes next.
As we close this chapter, we ask for kindness. Toward our team. Toward local businesses. Toward one another.โค๏ธ
