Starbucks shift supervisor Kirsten Casteel is passionate about helping to fight hunger in her San Antonio, Texas community, and the reasons are deeply personal. As a child, Kirsten’s family struggled to make ends meet, often relying on food banks and school programs for her daily meals. While 46 million Americans struggle with hunger, almost 40% of food is lost between farm and fork. In the spirit of Our Mission and Values, Starbucks partners like Kirsten spoke up for a solution. Since 2016, Starbucks has been teaming up with to reach a goal of rescuing 100% donatable food from our company-operated U.S. stores. We’re sharing Kirsten’s story to help spread awareness this month, Hunger Action Month. Learn what you can do to end hunger in your community, here: http://www.feedingamerica.org/hunger-blog/starbucks.html
