Before Houston became the culinary city it is today, there was Tony's.
For decades, Tony Vallone's dining room was where the city gathered to celebrate, conduct business, mark milestones, and occasionally find themselves seated alongside presidents, royalty, acclaimed artists, and cultural icons.
These photographs offer a glimpse into that history, from the original dining room on Sage Road to the gatherings, celebrations, and traditions that helped shape more than six decades of hospitality.
But what made Tony's special was never simply who was in the room. It was Tony Vallone's unwavering commitment to excellence. The details mattered. The food mattered. The hospitality mattered.

Every Thursday and Friday, Louie Carrington brings his signature style to the piano from 6:30 PM to 10 PM. On Saturdays, Miguel Delabarca takes over from 7 PM to 10 PM, adding a little extra energy to the evening.

To get to the Italian restaurant located on Richmond Avenue in Houston, visitors have a few transport options. For those driving, they can take I-69/US-59 North or South and exit at Buffalo Speedway. From there, they can turn onto Richmond Avenue and find parking on the street or in nearby lots.
Alternatively, visitors can also take the METRORail Red Line to the Museum District station and transfer to bus number 25 or 56 to arrive at Richmond Avenue. It is then just a short walk to the restaurant from there.
For those who prefer a more active mode of transportation, biking is also an option with bike racks available for parking nearby.
