Yesterday was our final day of business at Hey Mikey’s Ice Cream in Galveston and Texas City, and our hearts are absolutely overflowing.
Yesterday was a record-breaking day, but more than the numbers, it was the people who made it unforgettable. We saw so many familiar faces — past employees from years back, friends who have become family, and so many incredible members of this community who have supported us from the very beginning. Watching all of you walk through our doors one more time meant more than we can put into words.
We are truly blown away by the love we have received. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for standing in line. Thank you for grabbing a scoop, sharing a memory, and reminding us why we started this in the first place. You allowed us to live out a dream and pour our passion into something sweet for so many years.
This chapter is closing, and we will deeply, deeply miss this — the shop, the laughter, the late nights, the sticky counters, the smiling kids, the regulars who felt like home… and most of all, all of you.
The love and support you’ve shown us is unmatched, and we will carry it with us forever.

We’ve heard you. So many of you have reached out asking when our final day will be, and we want to make sure everyone has the chance to enjoy one last scoop.
🍦 This Thursday, Feb. 5, we’ll be open from 3–6 PM (or until supplies last) to serve our very last scoops at Hey Mikey’s in Galveston (only!).
It will be scoops ONLY, and we’ll also have merch available for purchase for anyone who wants to take home a little piece of Hey Mikey’s.
Thank you for the love, the memories and the support. We look forward to scooping for you one last time!

For those using public transport, get off at the nearest bus stop on Post Office Street in Galveston. Walk straight ahead and turn left at the next intersection. The ice cream shop is located a few meters ahead on your right-hand side.
For those driving, take the exit for Post Office Street from the main road and head towards downtown Galveston. Look for a parking spot near the ice cream parlor as street parking may be limited during peak hours. Once you have parked, walk towards the intersection and turn right. The ice cream parlor will be on your left-hand side within a few yards.
