Ya'll, if you stopped by around 12:10 p.m. today hoping to get some donuts but didn't come in because the lil' bakerman waved bye-bye 👋, we apologize! We were actually still here serving what I thought was going to be our last customer of the day.
Our son was nearby and overheard me saying, "That's our last customer." He took it very seriously! Even though his sweet little heart wanted you all to come in, he thought Mommy wasn't going to let anyone else in after that. 😊
After you left, he felt so bad. He kept saying he was sorry because we didn't get to earn that last little bit of money from the donuts you might have bought. 🥹😁
I couldn't help but think back to when I was 6 years old. I was out playing in the mud whenever it rained, not worrying about helping my parents on the farm or even thinking about how they earned money to support our family. ❤️‍🩹😭
He's just the sweetest little boy, and moments like this remind us how kind and thoughtful his heart truly is. 🥰

We know we've been sharing a lot of good things happening in our lives lately, and today's post is no different. We truly believe that kindness deserves to be recognized and celebrated.❤️
Yesterday after work, we had to pick up some supplies for our donut shop. After such a long day, none of us felt like cooking, so we decided to stop by Rudy's "Country Store" and Bar-B-Q on the Gulf Freeway, not too far from our shop.
At first, Lee said he didn't feel like dining in and wanted to wait in the car, so the lil' bakerman and I went inside to place a to-go order. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Mr. Steven, one of the managers there. We've seen Steven, Cody and many of the Rudy's team at our donut shop because they regularly stop by for donuts and kolaches for their employees almost every weekend.
I told them we were back because our son had recently discovered their cream corn 🌽 and absolutely fell in love with it! I joked that they'd probably be seeing us a lot more from now on. 😊
We placed a small order to go, but as soon as we got back to the car, Lee said, "That food smells way too good... let's just go back in and eat here!" 😁 So back inside we went.
Since we originally planned on taking our food home, we hadn't ordered any drinks. As I started walking toward the counter to buy some, Steven was already halfway to me with three drink cups in his hands. He smiled and said they were for us. I politely refused and told him we were happy to pay, but he insisted and said, "Please let us take care of you." So, with grateful hearts, we accepted. 🥹
Even though the food is always amazing, our original to-go order wasn't looking very picture-worthy anymore. 😂 Since we already planned on giving Rudy's a shout-out, we decided to order another round so we could take some nice photos (and of course, we'd happily eat that too!).
When we went back to the counter, we met Katie, one of their incredibly sweet employees. As I got my wallet out to pay, she simply smiled, swiped a card, and said, "You're good—we've got you." The other employees were smiling too, and they absolutely would not take no for an answer. 🥹😇
We've had nothing but wonderful experiences every time we've visited Rudy's, but we'll stop here for now. If we shared every great experience we've had there, you'd probably be reading this post all day because that's just how amazing their team is! 😁
Thank you all so much for making us feel so special when you didn't have to. Whenever you came into our shop, we simply charged you for your donuts and kolaches just like everyone else, and we never expected any special treatment when we visited your restaurant. 🥹 Your kindness and generosity truly meant so much to our family, and we're incredibly grateful. 🙏🏼❤️
We're sure many of you already know how great Rudy's is—not just because of their delicious food, but because of the amazing people who work there and the outstanding customer service they provide. If you haven't been yet, go check them out! We think you'll love them just as much as we do.
And yes... our lil' bakerman loved their cream corn so much that he had already eaten half of it before I could even take a picture of our meal! 😋🌽❤️

Yesterday, the lil’ bakerman kept asking when Mommy could join him for a craft day at our neighbors The Craft Factory. He had been there before, but never with Mommy, so after we closed the shop, I finally got to spend about an hour there with him.
He went ahead first while I stayed behind to wrap things up at the store, and then I headed over. He was so happy to see me walk through the door! 😍
He picked out a car, and he helped me choose a beaver. A couple of months ago, we went to the theater to watch a movie called Hopper. It was about a special beaver, and we absolutely loved it, so he thought a beaver would be the perfect choice for me.
Our neighbors were absolutely wonderful, hosting us while also taking care of several other groups of customers at the same time. 🥰
Thank you neighbors for giving us such a special Mommy-and-son moment that I never knew we needed. We loved every minute we spent at your place and will cherish the memories we made there. ❤️

Y’all, this is one of those posts we’ve been wanting to share for quite a while now. We kept putting it off and waiting for the right time, but we think today is finally the day. 😊
This is Hinde Giusti, one of our dear friends and loyal customers. Vanessa has been supporting us for years, usually stopping by for breakfast items for herself and her family. But let’s go back to when COVID first started.
When Vanessa saw how much we were struggling, she decided to place large orders of kolaches and donuts for her workplace every week on Wednesdays rain or shine. And yes, every order was paid for entirely out of her own pocket—no reimbursement, no receipts needed. She told us she would continue supporting us until we were no longer struggling.
Well, it’s been about seven years since then, and she’s still here supporting us with those big orders. 🥹
A while back, we told Vanessa that while we were incredibly grateful for everything she had done for us, she didn’t need to keep placing such large orders. We explained that although we may not be the busiest donut shop in town, we’re thankfully not the slowest either, and we would always appreciate how she stood by us when not many people even knew who we were.
Her response?
“Why do I feel like you guys are trying to chase me away?” 😄
She told us that everyone at her workplace loves our donuts and kolaches, and that she’ll continue supporting us as long as she can. 🥰
Vanessa, thank you so much! And thank you to customers and friends like you who have always been there to lift us up when we were down. Your kindness, generosity, love, and support will never go unnoticed! ❤️‍🩹❤️
We are truly blessed to have people like you in our corner.😍

Thank you, Grandma Joyce Brandt, for always thinking of us on every occasion! ❤️
If you’ve followed us for a while, you probably know Grandma Joyce by now. And if you’re new here, chances are you’ve seen her sitting with our little bakerman at the corner table of our donut shop on the weekends.
Grandma Joyce has been helping watch and play with our son since he was almost 2 years old, and he’s 6 now. As you know, our weekends get very busy, and when he was younger, he always wanted someone to play with. Grandma Joyce has truly been our saving grace. Not only does she come in on weekends to spend time with him, but she also shows up on special occasions and holidays that fall on weekdays because she knows we'll be busy. She allows us parents to focus on making donuts and serving y’all without having to worry about him, and for that we are incredibly grateful. 🥹🥰
This past Father’s Day, she helped our son make a “Happy Father’s Day, I Love You Daddy” card for Lee (so sweet! 😍), and she even got him a Father’s Day-themed mug and told him it was from our son.
And this isn’t the only time she’s done something like this. On Mother’s Day, she gave me a beautiful coffee mug that’s still sitting in its box because it’s too pretty for me to bring myself to use! 😁 She also surprised me with a Mother’s Day balloon. She never misses our birthdays, especially our son’s.
I still remember years ago, not long after we met Grandma Joyce, she brought me flowers and a gift for Valentine’s Day. She said she knew we were busy and that Lee probably wouldn’t have time to go out and get me something, so she had him covered. 😊😍
We may not always post about her every time she does something thoughtful because if we did, you’d probably see a post about Grandma Joyce every week—that’s just how amazing she is to us. ❤️
She invites us to her house for big holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, but she won’t come to ours because she doesn’t want us working hard to clean the house and cook for her after long donut shop hours. 🥹
And can we talk about all the gifts she gets for our son? We could go on all day about everything she’s given him, but to keep it short, we hardly ever have to buy him clothes or toys because Grandma Joyce has already taken care of it. 😇
One Christmas, she invited us over and had about 10 bags of gifts waiting for him. Every single one was for our son! 😄 Our car trunk was completely filled with Grandma Joyce’s presents by the time we left.
Thank you, Grandma Joyce, for everything. 🙏🏼 You are such a special person in our lives, and your kindness, generosity, and love will always be appreciated. ❣️
LOVE,
Natalie, Lee & Davin ❤️
