What people say

Ethiopian restaurants are known for their unique and flavorful dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant, located on Audley Street in Houston, is no exception. This family-owned restaurant has been serving up delicious Ethiopian cuisine since 1994 and has been nominated as one of the best ethnic restaurants in the Houston community.

One of the standout features of Blue Nile is their use of Injera bread made from 100% teff flour. Teff is an Ethiopian staple that is high in protein, iron, and minerals with a calcium content more than 17 times that of wheat or barley. The soft spongy pancake-like bread is traditionally served in Ethiopia with a variety of stews, meat dishes, and salads placed upon it.

Blue Nile offers lunch specials on selected Ethiopian cuisines Monday through Friday from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. They also have a happy hour from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM where all drinks are only $1.00. If you're looking to host a private party or cater an event, Blue Nile offers those services as well.

Overall, Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant provides a warm and friendly environment where food lovers can enjoy the unique taste of Ethiopian dishes. Their use of teff flour in their Injera bread adds a healthy twist to their already delicious cuisine. If you're looking for an authentic Ethiopian dining experience in Houston, be sure to check out Blue Nile!
