ESMERALDA AUCTION 2026 · Lot EA5

This year’s auction, A Life in Stories, honored Price Peterson’s 90th birthday chapter by chapter. Lot EA5 belongs to Chapter V: New Horizons. That chapter is about 1973, when Price and Susan left Philadelphia with their young children to begin a new life at the farm in Boquete.

It’s a washed Geisha from the Gigante plot on Farm El Velo, 1,900 m, picked in the Pascua harvest in April. The entire lot was 6 kg. It drew 103 bids and closed at US$5,155 per kg.

In the cup: grand duke jasmine, yuzu, yubari king melon, apricot.

We’re honored to share a small part of it. Pre-orders are open now. Every jar is roasted in Houston and ships November 6.

October Pinnacle Subscription features Natural Geisha DFM Dilgo from Altieri Specialty Coffee

Dilgo is a plot within Altieri’s Mima Estate in Alto Quiel, at the foothills of the Barú Volcano.

DFM stands for Dry Fermentation Mosto, and it’s what makes this coffee so unique. The cherries were first dried on African beds for 4 days, then rehydrated with mosto, the liquid from an anaerobic fermentation of cherries from this same lot. They were sealed in bags for 2 days to complete the fermentation, then dried in a climate-controlled room at 18°C and 50% humidity for 35 days.

The result is a complex, fruit-forward coffee. In the cup, we taste strawberry🍓 , plum, and pink pineapple🍍. It’s a bright, juicy cup that’s sure to cheer you up!

New coffee release — Inmaculada Fellows Pink Bourbon. A great addition to our Daily Series.

This Natural processed Pink Bourbon brews a fruity and bright cup, with notes of guava, blueberry, and hibiscus tea. Highly recommend it if you love a fruity cup of coffee.

A little more about the Fellows Farms program behind it: Fellows is Inmaculada’s producer partnership program. Through it, Inmaculada works alongside neighboring smallholders, buying ripe cherry directly at the farm at a premium of 30% or more over market. From there, Inmaculada takes on the transport, drying, fermentation, and milling in its own facilities, so the farmers skip the cost of a wet mill and get paid far sooner. Every lot is processed to estate standards.

Thanks to our bidding partner Panda Bear Express, who bid for nearly 20 hours at Best of Panama 2026 Auction, we‘re bringing home a share of GN-16, Bambito Estate Coffee Moon Valley.

A honey-processed Geisha from Paso Ancho, Chiriquí. Scored 92.38, closed at $2,503/kg.

Thank you to every producer who brought their coffees to the table this year. Behind each lot is a whole season of picking, processing and patience. And congratulations to SCAP on 30 editions of Best of Panama. For three decades, this auction has shown the world what Panama can grow, and it keeps raising the bar for all of us.

Panama Varietal Series No. 6 — Kotowa Las Brujas Chakira.

Chakira is back on our shelf for a second year! This one was a crowd favorite last time around, and we’re so happy to share it again. If you haven’t tried it yet, Chakira is a newer varietal that Kotowa selected from Ethiopian landrace and cultivated on their farms. At this year’s Best of Panama, Kotowa’s Chakira entry placed 10th in the Varietals category with a score of 89.13, a great sign of what this varietal can do. Something rare and new to explore. Now available in store and online, come grab a bag!
