Add a touch of luxury to your festive table this year. Imagine these dazzling appetisers that are not only a feast for the eyes, but also a treat for the palate.
Smoked Salmon Dill Cream Puffs with Caviar
Ingredients:
* 8 pieces of mini puff pastry
* 4 oz package smoked salmon cut into thin slices
* 0/5 of an 8 oz package cream cheese
* 1/4 cup sour cream
* 1/4 cup chopped fresh dill
* juice of half a lemon
* pinch of fresh black pepper
* 4 oz tin black caviar
Directions:
* Place the cream cheese, sour cream, dill, lemon juice and black pepper in a medium bowl. Using a hand mixer, blend until creamy.
* Cut the tops off the puff pastry cups.
* Spoon the mixture into the piping bag and cut a very small hole in one corner of the bag.
* Pipe the mixture into the pastry cups.
* Place slices of salmon on top of the pastry, add a small dollop of caviar and garnish with a small sprig of dill.
Four-Layer Caviar Dip
Ingredients:
* 6 large hard boiled eggs, chopped
* 2 tablespoons sour cream
* 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* Cooking spray
* 1 cup finely chopped red onion
* 8 oz cream cheese
* 1/3 cup fresh chives, thinly sliced
* 2 oz black caviar
* Salty crackers
Directions:
* In a medium bowl, mix together the chopped eggs, sour cream, mayonnaise and salt.
* Lightly grease a 6-inch ring pan with cooking spray. Spoon the egg mixture evenly onto the bottom of the prepared ring mold.
* Top evenly with onion.
* Mix the cream cheese and chives in a bowl and gently spread over the onion; top with the black caviar.
* Refrigerate for 2 hours.
* Turn out onto a serving plate or platter and serve with crackers.
