🎉 What an unforgettable day at Robert E. king Elementary celebrating school lunch! 🥳
A complete gym transformation with amazing decorations! Students had an absolute blast playing games, sharing laughs, and enjoying a truly delicious celebratory lunch. Memories were made all around! 📸✨

Nothing brings a cafeteria together quite like good food, lots of laughter, and a little bit of fun! 🥳✨
For Day 2 of National School Lunch Week, our cafeterias were buzzing:
Our elementary students enjoyed whole-grain Bosco cheese sticks and refreshing strawberry lemonade 100% juice. 🍓🍋
Over at the junior and high schools, students were happily buzzing over the most epic pairing: crispy oven-baked chicken tenders and whole-grain Dutch waffles, paired with a vibrant mix of fresh fruits and veggies! 🍽️
Thank you to our amazing nutrition teams for making lunch the best part of the day! Today, memories were definitely made. 🙌

🎉 No clowning around! We just kicked off National School Lunch Week with an absolute blast (and an amazing menu)! 😋
Today’s tasting day was a huge hit across our schools:
⭐ Elementary: Enjoyed playful, whole-grain emoji waffles paired with oven-crisped chicken drumsticks!
⭐️Junior High & High School: Savored delicious Soy Garlic Glazed Wings!
This is only the beginning! We have so much more fun, flavor, and excitement planned for the rest of the week.

Local menu item highlight of the week: vegetable egg rolls!
Local crunch and student approved! ✨ Our vegetable egg rolls, made in Pasadena, TX, are loaded with fresh veggies in a whole-grain, oven-baked shell. Elementary loved this veggie side dish on Tuesday, and junior high & high school enjoyed them today! 🥬🥕💛

🍽️ Same menu. Two student choices. Both are reimbursable meals!
The tray with fewer items meets the minimum requirements for a reimbursable meal and reflects what a student may choose from the serving line. The fuller tray shows all the additional fruits and vegetables available from that same serving line at no additional à la carte cost!
And this year, elementary students can enjoy BOTH fruit and vegetable choices at lunch, too! 🌈🍎🥦
We encourage students to build fuller trays to stay energized and ready to learn throughout the school day!

Public Transport: Take the train or bus to the closest station/bus stop. From there, walk east for 5 blocks until you reach the cafeteria.
Driving/Parking: If you are driving, take the main highway and exit at the second right turn. Continue straight on this road until you see a large parking lot on your right-hand side. The cafeteria is located in the center of this parking lot.

Katy ISD Food Service is a cafeteria that provides healthy and nutritious meals to children under 18 and enrolled students with disabilities up to 21 years old. The institution is an equal opportunity provider, ensuring that everyone has access to their services. They have recently started their summer feeding program at selected sites, where kids can enjoy delicious meals while having fun with their friends. Katy ISD Food Service also celebrates National Dairy Month by promoting the consumption of fat-free or low-fat milk, cheese, and yogurt daily. Their website provides all the necessary information about locations, times, and dates of their meal sites. Although grab-and-go/curbside is not available this summer, dine-in service is available for breakfast and lunch. One of their sites that began on May 30th is Opportunity Awareness Center/Raines. Overall, Katy ISD Food Service is doing an excellent job in providing healthy meals to children during the summer months.
