Mac and Twist Mac and Twist was a popular food stall, food stand, and fast food restaurant located on Washington Avenue in Houston. Their specialty was macaroni & cheese topped with brisket, fried onions, and BBQ sauce. The restaurant also served burgers and brew shakes. Customers loved the simple yet delicious burgers and interesting twists on classic dishes like "the porky" mac and cheese. Unfortunately, Mac and Twist has permanently closed its doors.

Posted • Food exploring. First stop railway heights. What I recommend definitely get the burger () and the Mac and cheese ( ) on the second floor. Simple yet delicious burger I felt is a safe bet if you’re not looking for something too out there. The mac and twist option we had was “the porky” sweet and savory with a nice crunch to balance it out. You won’t regret it. On the first floor finish your food off with a cold brew shake () to help with the post lunch coma. (Didn’t get a photo but you just have to trust me)

I went to market again to visit specifically. There was a massive line last time. I got the Porky macaroni dish. It was tasty. As big as it was I finished the entire serving. I’d definitely love to go back for more.

From there, you can walk east along Washington Avenue for about 7 blocks to reach the food stall and food stand.
